Growing Great FamiliesGrowing Great Families is an organization that provides empowering community-based and evidence-based parenting classes, consultations, and support in Teton County, WY. Founded by Rachel Wigglesworth who holds a Master’s degree (M.Ed.) in Parent and Family Education, Growing Great Families seeks to meet parents where they are in their everyday parenting challenges and give them tools and understandings to increase satisfaction of their family life. Rachel is passionate about connecting parents with research and ideas about parenting and child development, and providing a place where parents can come and feel supported, engage in community, find their confidence, and learn strategies that will bring more harmony into their homes. Growing Great Families offers classes for parents of infants through teens. Individual parent coaching, consultations and customized groups are also offered. There are two things we know about parenting: it can bring us great joys, and it can be one of the hardest things we do. Parents can often feel confused about how to respond to their children in a variety of situations; yet parenting comes with no instruction manual. There is a lot of relevant new information about parenting, child development, and the brain. At Growing Great Families Rachel is passionate about connecting parents with these new ideas, working through solutions to parenting challenges, and normalizing our parenting experiences. Parenting Classes |
My goal for my parenting classes is to help parents understand the world from their children’s perspective in a way that will assist parents in understanding their children’s behaviors, and then empower parents to react in a way that supports their children’s development. I emphasize the importance of a strong parent-child relationship, and the importance of relating to a child with sensitivity and empathy while at the same time establishing boundaries and limits that teach the child kind and respectful behavior. There is no one right way to parent. During classes we will share ideas and discuss concepts about parenting and child development. Parents will explore strategies that feel good for their individual family's personalities, values, goals, and needs.
